What is the SAC?
School Advisory Council (SAC)
The SAC- or School Advisory Council- is a group made up representatives of parents, community members, teachers and school staff that work together as an advisory body to ensure that all students receive the best possible learning opportunities. We cover a wide range of topics including advising the school's principal and staff on school policies, curriculum and programs, school practices, student discipline and school communication with parents to promote a positive learning environment.
We are required to meet 6 times during the academic year. When scheduled, meetings happen the first Tuesday of the month. Dates for upcoming meetings, a draft agenda and the previous month’s meeting minutes can be found on the school website. Everyone is welcome to attend the SAC meetings.
Our SAC has two co-chairs: Mary Jane Mackinnon, a parent with children in grades 4 and 6 French immersion and we are currently seeking to fill the position of the other co-chair. For more information on upcoming meeting or if you would like to raise an issue, please contact us by email at email@example.com.
